Jeremy Deller
Jeremy Deller's infamous bike tube map.
Jeremy Deller is a British conceptual, video and installation artist who won the Turner Prize in 2004. He is perhaps most famous for his re-enactment of a battle between police and miners… the performance was referred to as the second most important work of art in the 21st century by The Guardian newspaper.
The artist submitted this design as an idea to Transport For London as part of their artist drawn tube maps. The undertone that it’s better to cycle around the capital was not surprisingly rejected.
