Andy Warhol
Perhaps the most famous artist of the 20th Century, Andy Warhol was a leading light of the pop art movement. His mass-produced images aped the banality of Western commercialism and they made him an overnight success in the early sixties.
In the late 60’s Andy shifted his creative forces to filmmaking. Blue Movie (known simply to Andy as Fuck) was a paradigm shifting film. It was the first film depicting un-simulated sex to be shown in American movie theatres, paving the way for pornographic movies such as Deep Throat in the 70’s.
This is the German lobby poster… it is in remarkable condition considering its age.
