David Shrigley, also known as D Shrig is the Scottish artist known for his darkly humorous and blunt takes on everyday life.   In 'Cat Watches Your Seizure' we are given a point of view of a cat watching you as you are stricken with a life-threatening condition, the cat seems to be ambivalent to your encoming demise, at best curious.

Shrigley often incorporates cats into his work, the feline personality gives the painter so much to work with; their indifference, aloofness and mysterious pomposity.  

Shrigley's cats are relatable despite their absurdity.  They tap into our often-conflicted feelings about these felines – their aloofness can be both frustrating and endearing. By using cats in this way Shrigley creates art that's both funny and thought-provoking.
