Damien Hirst
In 2023 Damien Hirst took a break from images of skulls, butterflies and dots to capture snapshot images of the sea and the British coast.
The coast paintings started out as a gray canvas, representing a winter sky, the spattered paint gave rise to the appearance of aerial maps or satellite imagery, glistening coastlines glimpsed through intermittent cloud cover.
