Pulp Fiction Dan Brown

Pulped Fiction

What is David Shrigley up to with 5,000 Dan Brown novels?

In a recent Guardian article David Shrigley spoke of buying up thousands of godawful Dan Brown novels.  He’s going to pulp the copies of  The Da Vinci Code apparently, though not in a bid to land the Nobel Peace Prize for services to humanity.  It seems he’s going to make paper out of the resultant mush, and then print editions of Nineteen-Eighty Four by George Orwell.  Bravo.

"his eyes went white, like a shark about to attack."

Then an article in the Financial Times over the weekend tantalizing mentions that a new Shrigley project entitled ‘Pulped Fiction’ will launch on the 26th of October.  Could this be the project we’ve been waiting for?  We certainly hope so and we’ll give you an update as soon as we hear anything!

EDIT:  It appears we were right in our sleuthing.  Invites have gone out for an exhibition entitled 'Pulped Fiction' in Swansea, Wales in October.  The event is shrouded in secrecy but we're hoping to get down there to fill you in!

In the meantime do have a look at our list of available Shrigley's here.
